Hmm. I’m afraid I’ve gone a bit iPhone-negative now.

Whilst I love everything about actually using the thing, the phone reception is shockingly bad. To the point I’d say it was totally unnaceptable.

I’m not making cross-network comparisons, even though my Orange signal was never a problem, even on the same network. I was stood in the middle of the street yesterday with the handset showing ‘No Service’ and a friend on O2 was stood next to me with 5 bars showing.

Silly buggers have put the aerial in the bottom of the iPhone too and it’s really obviously wrong because if you pick it up a decent signal showing it can instantly drop to 1 bar!! Put it in the dock, solid 5 bars, pick it up down to 2 or 3 if your lucky.

It’s not just me. I spent last night trawling forums, including the O2 and Apple support ones and there are a HUGE number of people complaining about it.

I hate to admit it, but I do actually think I’ll have to take it back and wait for v3, which is probably going to be awkward as I’ve already requested my PAC code from Orange :(

Yes, I am quite aware that I am not ‘normal’ and that ‘most’ people apparently love the summer, but I fucking loath this weather with a vengeance.

Sitting at my desk with all the windows open and two fans on and I’m still sweating like I’m in a sauna. Combine that with bastarding hayfever and it all adds up to about four months of fucking misery.

I think I need to go sit in the freezer for a while..

What started out as a bit of a tickly throat yesterday has evolved into an enormous ball of snot which is currently trying to escape from my nose. Arse.

I don’t feel ill, just snotty and I find myself oddly contemplating the meaning of it all. Snot that is. I mean what does it actually do? Why do we get a snotty nose when we have colds and the like?

Well I guess on balance, if the biggest thing I have to worry about is why we get a snotty nose then all must be relatively well in the world.

Oh, and I woke up rather earlier than usual today, and actually managed to get my fat arse out of bed too, which was nice.

Bit of a bugger on the social front this weekend as Kel was supposed to be coming down to Wales with me but got her dates mixed up with Callum’s dad and forgot that he isn’t sleeping this weekend and hence she can’t come to Wales which is a bit of a bugger as she was really looking forward to seeing everybody. Typical, that’ll teach her to go having bloody kids won’t it…

Actually I do feel a bit guilty about it as I forgot to remind her and just assumed that as it was all discussed a few weeks ago that she would remember to sort something out. As usual, assumption is the mother of all fuck ups innit.

It seems like ages since we’ve all got together doesn’t it, I mean fer fucks sake, 2001 has come and gone *ages* ago, where the fuck are our personal teleport units? They’ve had transporters in Star Trek for 20 years so where the hell are the public kiosks?

Telephone cold-calling is bad enough when there is a person who you can abuse on the end of the line, but today I was gobsmacked by their latest twattery…

I am sat at my desk and I answer the phone to a fucking recorded message!!! not even a person, but a message that says something like “this is a message from XYZ Travel, we would like to tell you about….” before I hung up in disbelief.

Now for one I am pissed off because I am registered with the Telephone Preference Scheme thingy and I dont expect these fucktards to call me in the first place, but then for them to use a machine so I cant even tell them to stick the phone up their own rectum sideways is really taking the piss.

Cunts.

Woke up this morning to discover that the minor ‘blip’ that happened on YakYak apparently exploded up its own arse last night. I missed all of this as it was Kel’s birthday yesterday and hence I was otherwise occupied spending time with me girly…

By the time I leapt out of bed at the crack of noon today apparently the offending thread had been deleted to ‘protect’ one of the individuals involved. Now I am not sure that I agree entirely with the concept of censorship on a public forum, but there it was, I missed it and so it shall be. I am a bit fucked off though because apparently my name was mentioned in said thread and it was deleted before I even had a chance to see what was said.

Sometimes I think that if something has to be said, accusations have been made publically then all parties concerned have the right to air their side publically too if they wish. In this case several of my close friends were involved and so in a way I am glad that it was contained, but on another level I think that deleting the info before all parties concerned had an equal chance to air their views was wrong.

C’est la vie….

What is it about instant messenging that makes random strangers pop up and start a conversation with someone they’ve never even heard of before?

Ok, so my Yahoo ID etc is available on a few of the message boards that I frequent etc. but I’m not talking about the people who are on the forums, I don’t mind them contacting me at all, in fact I would welcome that. What I am talking about is complete strangers who have picked up my IM address somewhere and just contact me out of the blue for a random chat…

My telephone number is in the phone book, but I dont get a bunch of random people phoning me up for a chat any time of the day or night do I? Would you just pick a number at random from the phone book and call for a chat? No, exactly, so why the fuck do people I’ve never heard of do that on a IM channel?

The worst part of all is when they just pop up at random and expect you to chat to them and they get all shirty with you when you don’t want to chat to them…
