Well nothing of course, except that they were all supposed to be getting up early to get back home at a sensible time… hee hee, didn’t think that was ever desitined to happen, especially after opened the JD at about 5am…

Gary, being a complete gaylord, wimped it at about 4am, citing the need for an early start as his excuse (no shame in that eh G…), ‘course given that he in fact didnt get up early at all he does in fact now seem super-gay

Got home fromt he party last night, about 8pm I thought I’d just have a little lie down, woke up again about 11 this morning..

Excellent people, excellent party, excellent (deleted for legal reasons), lots of sweaty Robotron an chilled Rez playing, some important stuff sorted out, some stuff got blown up and then we all went home to bed… lovely..

Just got home from a weekend in Wales, well it ended up as a weekend in Wales…

Originally we were due to come home on Saturday as Callum was only at his dads for Friday evening. Seemeds like a good idea as Gravy & K were only supposed to be down for the Friday night then coming home Saturday afternoon to get to the Kraftwerk gig in London last night.

Found out that Ian was coming down on saturday so naturally I wanted to stay & be sociable, so we hatched Plan ‘B’ which meant Kel could get a lift home with Gravy and I could stay…

Ha ha, of course - saturday lunchtime comes and that trip all the way to London seems far less attractive than it did before, so they wimped out and decided to stay which kind of buggered up plan ‘B’, hence we then hatched plan ‘C’ where Kel, being an absolute angel, volunteered to take my car home and I got a lift instead…. Excellent!

Course that meant our other plan to go to bath Saturday evening got fuXX07ED (sorry Jim, my fault…) but I am sure we can put that right asap…

All very complicated, but worth it all the same

Nice to catch up with everyone, especially nice to see Ian as it’s been waay too long!

And yes, it is true, I am the last PC user on the planet…

Having just had a call on the crewphone (like a batphone only more psychedelic) from Korruptor who said that he had also got his dates fucked, so had gyratory . Then I speak to the stinkygoat who says in fact that next weekend would prolly be better for him too as he has some stuff to do on VLM and the extra weekend would help…

Bit of a bugger on the social front this weekend as Kel was supposed to be coming down to Wales with me but got her dates mixed up with Callum’s dad and forgot that he isn’t sleeping this weekend and hence she can’t come to Wales which is a bit of a bugger as she was really looking forward to seeing everybody. Typical, that’ll teach her to go having bloody kids won’t it…

Actually I do feel a bit guilty about it as I forgot to remind her and just assumed that as it was all discussed a few weeks ago that she would remember to sort something out. As usual, assumption is the mother of all fuck ups innit.

It seems like ages since we’ve all got together doesn’t it, I mean fer fucks sake, 2001 has come and gone *ages* ago, where the fuck are our personal teleport units? They’ve had transporters in Star Trek for 20 years so where the hell are the public kiosks?

Spent most of the evening noodling around with some code (yahay - at last!!), but having reached a logical point I put that to bed for the evening and am now setting up some stuff in anticipation of transferring all my various web stuff over to a new host. I’ve been using a hosting company in Canada for a while now and they were pretty good but looking at what I want to do, especially hosting multiple sites and potentially large video files for the school stuff they were looking a bit pricy so I have now got a professional account with 1&1 which gives me everything I need (and more!) under one roof for £17 a month. I now have 3Gb web space, stupidly high bandwidth allowance, unlimited email addys, domains coming out of my ears etc so I’m well happy as it isnt going to cost any more than my old sites combined either…

Got a few loose ends to tie up tomorrow before heading down to Jeffs for the start of our marathon trip to Lionhead for his demo on Monday. All told I’ve got about a 750 mile round trip… thankfully not all in one go and I’ll have the Yakbeast for company so it’s not a problem, I’m actually rather looking forward to it.

 

Hee hee, he’s going to melt their eyes…..

Oh, and yes, I am listening to Katie Melua again, top recommendation if anyone fancies it…

Last night in Wales tonight…

Still it’s been bloody nice to get away for a few days. I’m heading home at some point tomorrow, start teaching again on Monday. It’s weird actually, seems like ages since our xmas party, be nice to get back to it

As I want to start the new year on the right track I’m going to have a blast for a couple of weeks and try to ‘clear the decks’ a bit. I need a major sort out in my office for one thing, and I seem to have collected loads of little bitty things that need doing so I really want to nail them as soon as possible. It’s more a case of clearing some mental space than anything.

I need to work out a few more ’systems’ for the school, the idea being to lay down some set procedures for all the key admin jobs that I *love* so much so that (a) anyone could do them, or (b) I can do them as efficiently as possible without having to get bogged down in it. That’s the problem with being a professional Martial Arts instructor.. to be a professional means (obviously) that you have to run the school as a business, which means advertising, recruiting, enroling and retaining students. All of which is a pain the the arse when all you want to do is train and teach the Martial Arts…

Still, beats a 9-5 any day…

What a thoroughly pleasant way to spend a new year.

Had a fucking blinding new year with some great mates @ casa Yak, was really sad to see them leave this afternoon but I was left with a real glow thinking about the quality of the friendships that have developed over the past year. These are some *special* people. Sure there have been some ups and downs along the way, but when you sit back and take stock, some very good things have some to pass..

Yak is back from baa-bados sometime tomorrow which will be nice, was weird having our new years party in his place, but the fact that we were able to do so sums up the whole spirit of the relationship we all have.

Jeff, you are a fucking star mate… this is all down to you, and I know I speak for all of us when I say that you have been the catalyst for something truly, truly wonderful.

I have a feeling that 2k4 could be a very good year indeed.

Had a rather lovely few days chilling with some of the nicest people I know. To those who couldn’t be here, big love, would have been all the more wonderful if you had been here, but I understand why that was not possible and you were here in spirit.

To those of you who were, what can I say…
