See, here’s the thing. I don’t do gardening. Not even a little bit. We have a blike in a van who comes once a week to do the lawns and generally tidying up in the garden. The one place he’s never ventured though, and nor have I in at least a year, is the greenhouse.
You know the Eden project down in Cornwall, or perhaps Biosphere in the states? Well they’ve got nothing on the ‘experiment’ going on in out greenhouse.
See:

And yes, it really is *full* of natures wonders, completely untouched by human hands. As you can see, Callum was the most intrepid explorer..
et voila! a little over an hour later..

I think we can chalk that one up to a productive afternoon then!

Given that I am quite used (and happy) to living in a typical blokes environment (i.e. a bit of a bombsite) I am finding this tidy workspace stangely satisfying, hence the desire to expand the tidy-zone outwards into the rest of my meat-space habitat.
I made a suprising amount of progress today (err *looks at clock* yesterday..) in the BTU department, aided somewhat by copious quantities of tea, a packet of McVities and lots of Eat Static played at “simulated rave” volumes.
Top gnus of the hour is that the Yakly one is currently getting himself online with a LJ account and so we shall shortly have full crew access to random bloggage.
Jubbly…

Suitably inspired by the fact that my office is still tidy a month after my BTU I am now stuck into the rest of the house…
When I consider that last year I threw out several bin-bags worth of old magazines away, I cant quite figure out why I still have 5 (yes FIVE) bags full to take to the recycling bin today….
Just taking a quick tea-break (actually no, I’m allowing myself to be distracted by the llamasoft forums, Yahoo and Goldie Looking Chain but WTF
)

First off last night we have the worst snowstorm I can remember in years, but it only lasts a total of about 15 minutes… still more than enought to leave the roads treacherous though…
Then, when I get up (early-ish as planned) I can hear a low-flying helicopter nearby. I looked out of the window to see the local Air Ambulance hovering around looking for a place to land up on Cam Peak (a small hill / common ground about half a mile up the road).
Course, I had to go have a look, and further investigation found out that someone had taken a nasty tumble sledging and needed to go to hospital. I got there just as they were getting back into the helicopter, and thanks to the marvels of digital technology, got a couple of cool shots of the helicopter, such as this one

Result!
My early night plan meant that I woke up, even lazed around for a bit putting off the inevitable acto of actually getting up, and was still pleasantly suprises when I looked at my phone to see it was in fact only 10:45.
Right, here we go then - NC0T, bacon sarnie and some banging tunage, let the BTU commence!!

BTU Progress so far is mildly encouraging.. I believe there may in fact be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well I finally started on my long overdue BTU (Big Tidy Up) today.
The hardest bit is the in-between stage when you feel you are surrounded by an even bigger pile of crap than the one you are trying to tidy up in the first place…
Going to go into town tomorrow to get some file archive boxes from PC world so that I can actually stash some of this stuff away somewhere in a a semi-organised manner.
I suspect the end result may involve a certain amount of swearing….
Oh, and I’ve got an earache…..
