Was planning to go to Jodrell Bank today with Huw but we decided against it due to the weather being a bit dodgy. As it was pretty much on my way back to the motorway I thought I’d swing round that way anyway though it was peeing down when I got there so I didn’t venture out of the car. I should have stuck around for a few mins though as by the time I’d gone 5 minutes down the road there was a break in the rain, so stopped by the side of the road and grabbed a couple of quick snaps..
(As always, click through for Flickr)
I’ve not been up to Jodrell bank for years but I still find the place fascinating. The last time was when a mate of mine did a gig there and sadly we didn’t have time for aproper look around. Really must rectify that next time I go visit..
Off oop north to see Queensryche tonight with Huw.
Operation Mindcrime 20th Anniversary show innit
Proper excited about this one, I’ve not seen Queensryche for years
Ooh, how much do I want the new iPhone already….
… and it’s just got about a zillion times more interesting because Omni group are releasing OmniFocus for it (phone-specific stuff here).
I love OmniFocus and use it every day to keep my GTD system up to date, but the one drawback for me is it’s not mobile and hence I need to rely on my phone for notes etc. which I invariably forget to add to OF for ages. Yes, I know, if I’m working GTD properly I should be processing my inboxes regularly but on my current phone it’s not nearly as simply as it’s going to be with the proper mobile OmniFocus, especially as it supports the new automagic syncing with MobileMe etc.
Another mad bit of geekery - It’s location-aware, which means it can recognise where you are at home, work, in town or whatever and show/hide the appropriate contexts. Aces.
With the new app store stuff just around the corner I’m getting properly excited about upgrading my phone now. I think I’ll probably keep the touch jailbroken for the homebrew stuff (or donate it to Kel if she wants it). I’m looking forward to seeing what apps are available at launch, though I already know the two I’m most interested in (OmniFocus and iBank) are in the works so anything else is a bonus
More noodlings for the Yakyak theme of ‘Open Spaces’.

And another panorama from the same hill

One of Emma’s latest arrivals. Cute little feller ain’t he (or she as the case may be).
Mad to think she’s probably worth more than my car!
